rEVolution: Then & Now - 2017 to 2024

In early January 2017...just a few years into my solo endeavour as Mr Electric Vehicles Outlook Ltd,

I was invited by Mercedes-Benz to take to the stage at CES 2017 with Axel Harries & Ola Kallenius.

As part of the brand's LIVE and UNSCRIPTED 'Inspiration Talks', they were keen for me to share my thoughts on the electric vehicle road ahead...

Of course I accepted...after considering the invitation for half a nanosecond.

The timing was particularly good, as soon after CES I was scheduled to be in China, at the annual EV100 assembly in Beijing....importantly, unlike what had been happening at the Las Vegas gathering, the folks in and around The Diaoyutai State Guesthouse were already all in on EV's aka New Energy Vehicles.

This is the conversation I had with Ola a few days into 2017 - hosted by Mercedes Brand Ambassador Guy Kawasaki.

At the time, Ola had just been appointed as R&D Director, a few years ahead of becoming the very first non-German to take full command of the bridge in Stuttgart.

A few weeks just over 7 years ago within which I had several significant close encounters and conversations around what the rEVolution was shaping up to be.

We live in interesting times - and between now and the end of the decade, 'interesting' will reveal a full spectrum of meanings...or everyone across the automotive landscape.
